Welcome! Thank you for stopping by Roban Studio. I am a graduate of the University of Nevada - Las Vegas, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. I minored in photography and pursued it as a career path upon attaining my degree. My career as a professional photographer helped me to see details and compositions more clearly and I use this knowledge in my art.
In 1988, I established Studio Art, a retouching and restoration business that served many communities in the west. I restored and retouched all photos by hand and it was there that my attention to detail was further developed. During the existence of Studio Art, I studied the craft of oil painting and used this knowledge in my business, to create hand-colored black and white photographs. Although Studio Art had a successful twelve-year run, I decided in 1999 to change my career path, to pursue the creation of fine art paintings in a full-time capacity.
My grandmother was an artist and her paintings played a part in my appreciation of art. Today, my love of the vibrant colors I experimented with when I was young and saw in my grandmother's artwork can now be seen in every piece I create. I love color! I strive to bring beauty and inspiration to those who view my art, and hope you will receive as much pleasure in viewing my work, as I did in creating it. I work under my Hungarian maiden name of Roban (pronounced "Row-ban") to honor my grandmother who was my artistic inspiration and have named my studio as such.
I am the mom of two grown wonderful children and wife to a supportive, kind, funny and loving husband, who is my best friend. I live in the Pacific Northwest and enjoy the forest, lakes and the animals where we live, which are my inspirations for most of my work.
Art has always been a part of my life, and like the various notes in a piece of music, I enjoy many different mediums. I like to create different styles of art, and use various art supplies to achieve what I am interested in at the time. As I like to say "Life is a buffet, enjoy some art!"
Thank you for stopping by. If there's anything I can help you with or paint for you, or teach you, please don't hesitate to contact me. Please visit me on my blog and interact with me through the comments section.
Cheers - Rhonda
